in[+]frame welcomes photographer Petros Kotzabasis
Petros Kotzabasis is a Greek photographer and he is one of the first associates of in[+]frame. Recently he published his first photo album under the title 'obsessions' which we presented in a previous post. Starting from today in[+]frame hosts one selected gallery from the photographer. Petros Kotzabasis' photographic approach, according to his own words, can be described as following:
“...My field of reference is “the street”; I neither seek extraordinary events, nor do I travel around in quest of a subject to photograph...
...I seek nothing but the moment when narration becomes superfluous, with a view to creating a new universe where everything will be evident yet something will be left unrevealed, not with symbols but with hints...”
Short bio
Petros Kotzabasis was born and bred in Komotini, a small town in northern Greece, where he has chosen to live. He has been involved with photography since 1985 with a 10-year-interval. He started teaching fine-art photography in 2007 at the student cultural society of Democritus University of Thrace. He is currently teaching in the photographic societies of Komotini, Xanthi and Kavala and has also been conducting seminars on fine-art photography and visual perception in photographic groups and societies all over Greece. In 2014 his first photographic album, entitled “Obsessions”, was published.

Ο Πέτρος κοτζαμπάσης είναι ένας Έλληνας φωτογράφος και μάλιστα από τους πρώτους συνεργάτες του in[+]frame. Πρόσφατα δημοσίευσε το πρώτο του φωτογραφικό άλμπουμ με τον τίτλο 'Εμμονές', το οποίο και παρουσιάσαμε σε προηγούμενο ποστ του μπλογκ μας. Από σήμερα το in[+]frame φιλοξενεί μια επιλεγμένη γκάλερι του φωτογράφου. Η φωτογραφική προσέγγιση του Πέτρου Κοτζαμπάση, όπως ο ίδιος αναφέρει, προσδιόριζεται ως εξής:
“...Το πεδίο δράσης μου είναι ο «δρόμος», δεν αναζητώ σπουδαία γεγονότα, ούτε κάνω ταξίδια για να βρω φωτογραφικά θέματα...
...δεν επιδιώκω παρά την στιγμή που η αφήγηση γίνεται περιττή με σκοπό να δημιουργήσω ένα νέο σύμπαν όπου όλα είναι φανερά και όμως κάτι κρύβουν, όχι με σύμβολα αλλά με υπαινιγμούς...”
Σύντομο βιογραφικό
Ο Πέτρος Κοτζαμπάσης γεννήθηκε και ζει σε μια μικρή πόλη της Βορείου Ελλάδος, την Κομοτηνή. Ασχολείται με τη φωτογραφία από το 1985 με ένα διάλειμμα 10 ετών. Από το 2007 έχει ξεκινήσει να διδάσκει καλλιτεχνική φωτογραφία στον πολιτιστικό σύλλογο του Δημοκρίτειου Πανεπιστημίου. Σήμερα κάνει μαθήματα στους φωτογραφικούς συλλόγους της Κομοτηνής, της Ξάνθης, της Καβάλας και σεμινάρια «καλλιτεχνικής φωτογραφίας και οπτικής αντίληψης» σε ομάδες φωτογραφίας σε όλη την Ελλάδα. Το 2014 εκδόθηκε το πρώτο του φωτογραφικό λεύκωμα που έχει τον τίτλο «Εμμονές».
